Drawing and Painting on Wood
The participants in this program will gain substantial skills in the fundamentals of drawing and painting; including color theory, value studies, life drawing, and photo reproduction. Paintings will be completed in a representational style with an almost life-like finish. Teens have the opportunity to choose the urban landscape images they are passionate about. The subject matter of the paintings will include colorful images of cities located around the world but mostly representing the city where the program participants are from: Chicago." Participants receive a stipend of $425 upon completion of the program. Teens do not need painting experience but knowing how to draw (or at the very least enjoyment in drawing) is a plus. We meet on Tuesdays, Wednesdays (5-7:30 pm) and Every other Saturday (9a-3p), starting Feb 21- May 13. Apply online at afterschoolmatters.org/teens/programs. We can conduct an over the phone interview as well. The City Treasurer's Black History Month Scholarship scholarship for high school senior students is OPEN! Review the information below!
