Please, only those students who are serious about participating should sign and return the commitment form. Mr. Laurel will distribute these forms. If you need a new copy, contact Mr. Peralta. Remember, the program will take place on three days from June 26, 2017, through June 28, 2017, on the campus of DePaul University in Lincoln Park. If you return the commitment form, you are expected to attend all three days, in full.

I am writing to let you know about a program Chicago Sister Cities is hosting July 22-29, 2017, together with the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC).
The Global Youth Ambassadors Leadership Summit consists of a one-week summer intensive program for teenage girls from Chicago and its 28 sister cities. It aims to empower the next generation of global leaders by developing leadership, advocacy and activism skills. It is an opportunity for the girls to meet their peers from around the world; share issues that are of concern to them; participate in workshops; and meet with distinguished women in leadership positions. As emerging leaders in their own communities, the summit equips the girls to become agents of positive change in the world. I am looking for your assistance in reaching prospective participants and chaperones. A limited number of local and international participants will be selected via a competitive application process. The application is available to girls, ages 14-16 at the time of the summit, who live and attend school in the city of Chicago and have an interest in international relations, leadership, advocacy, activism or gender studies. CSCI will fund the awardees’ summit registration fee, meals and housing for the week-long summit. Chicago and international participants and chaperones will be paired in apartment-style dorms at the University of Illinois at Chicago. The application deadline is April 2, 2017. The application and more information about the summit can be found at: http://chicagosistercities.com/GlobalYouthAmbassadors or in the attached document. Thank you! |
