We are excited to announce the William J. and Beverly Goldsborough Scholarship, a new full-tuition award at Monmouth College available exclusively to high-achieving students from the Chicagoland area, including students from your high school. Monmouth’s most prestigious scholarship, the Goldsborough Scholars program recognizes outstanding students from the Chicagoland area who have consistently demonstrated academic excellence throughout their high school careers and who embody the mission and values of Monmouth, as evidenced by leadership, service, civic engagement and co-curricular commitments. The scholarship covers full tuition for four years (eight semesters). Admitted high school seniors with a 3.5 or higher cumulative high school GPA and a 1230 minimum SAT composite score (26 ACT) are eligible to compete for this award at our annual Fellows and Scholarship Competition Day, which will be Saturday, February 2. Candidates must apply to the college by our January 15 priority scholarship deadline and must complete the Fellows and Scholars application requirements by January 18. We anticipate awarding two or three Goldsborough Scholarships per year. Students who compete at our Fellows and Scholarship Competition Day will also be considered for other top scholarships. (Read about our first two Goldsborough Scholars here.) We value your continued partnership in helping students explore their college options, and we welcome any questions you may have about this exciting opportunity! Cordially, – Trent Gilbert Vice President for Enrollment Management and Communications

All seniors (especially those who have applied to Monmouth) are invited to the Monmouth College Reception on Sunday, January 27 (at 2:00 PM). Monmouth College is sponsoring a "Meet Monmouth in Chicago" pizza luncheon/information session for seniors and parents (college counselors and teachers welcome too of course). Seating is limited, so please RSVP soon. There is no charge for this luncheon. Monmouth Admission Representatives will be available to discuss individual financial aid questions and concerns at the end of the program. Also, Berenice Martinez, Monmouth alumna, will be there...she is bilingual (and a CPS grad)...so if parents need to hear about Monmouth in Spanish, Berenice will be there to help answer all their questions and concerns.
